Say Not Today

People have a way of showing up at the wrong time and demanding your attention as if you owe them anything. Not today! You don't have to respond nor do you have to force yourself to entertain the sudden appearance of a lost person. Don't let someone steal your peace or joy that you have prayed hard to maintain. When others randomly appear politely send them on their way until and if you choose to engage. Far too often people think that because they have made changes that you should accept them with open arms and heart. This isn't to say that we should close the door forever considering the situation and our relationship, however we must do what's best for us in order to protect our peace. You may choose to converse and then move forward with the other person, or converse and maintain what has been their absence. There is no pressure for you to decide the moment someone appears as this was their choice, and you have yours to make. Don't feel as if you're doing something wrong when you close the door and ask them to leave. Protect your peace and maintain your sanity and boundaries. In the meantime say "Not Today"!
