Misconception Of The Known

You didn't know me as I didnt know me

All you knew was an illusion

You made me out to be what you needed me to be

Yet you never knew me so couldn't love me

You loved the image the outer but not the inside

As I was void of loving myself

You sought comfort in the persona of all things that lifted your ego

While I felt discomfort in you

You couldn't understand where I was coming from

As I was figuring out where I'd been and where I was going

You couldn't support me in moving beyond my limits

As my boundaries were blurred and socially constructed

I felt a loss of control over my life's direction

So many misconceptions

You knew what you willed yourself to know

You accepted what you imagined

As I moved on without you

As I'm searching for me
