Placing others on a pedestal may leave you feeling let down, or hurt when others don't live up to expectations that you have created for them. It's when you're exposed to others faults, present limitations, or mistakes that you proceed to judge. Thoughts of judgement may center on how others have changed, or aren't themselves. The reality is that even those you admire, consider a role model, or assume have their life together all have to deal with the tides of life. No matter how "perfect" you may think someone is, you are the one creating the "perfect" reality in your mind as perfection doesn't exist. Seeking counsel, support, comfort, and encouragement from others is a normal part of life. However, expectations are personal as they are more so for self.
